Niall Lannaman (September 3, 1949 – January 1, 2000) was an Irish composer, acoustician, and engineer. Born in Lahinch to a population of under 1000, Lannaman had little contact with the outside world.
Following in his father's wake, he pursued electrical engineering from a young age, however finding it difficult to make any practical use of this knowledge, beyond experimenting with electronics, homemade instruments, and custom tape machines, which form the basis of all of his work, only ever self-performed.
Beyond this, little is known about Lannaman. The content of this series was recorded between 1967 and 1991, due to the condition the tapes recovered, exact years corresponding with the individual pieces can not be accurately pinpointed.
